Colleen Conway and Thomas Hodgman, Teaching Music in Higher Education
Abstract
Colleen Conway and Thomas Hodgman’s Teaching Music in Higher Education is the first book intended for graduate music students preparing to teach undergraduates for the first time. Informed by the authors’ learner-centered teaching philosophy, the book’s three sections cover “Course Planning and Preparation,” “Issues in Teaching and Learning,” and “Growth in Teaching Practice and a Future in Higher Education.” The book is valuable for music (history) pedagogy courses, rookie teachers, and experienced professionals unfamiliar with the considerable literature on teaching and learning.
