Toward a Scholarship of Music History Pedagogy

Abstract
The Editors of the Journal cite the traditional omission of pedagogy as a valued scholarly pursuit in American musicology. They contrast this view with the growing need for music historians to understand pedagogy and the growing interest in pedagogy as seen in recent publications and workshops as the rationale for starting the Journal of Music History Pedagogy. The editorial concludes with outlining the goals of the publication and a call for submissions.
