Stewarding a Shared Resource
A Response to Paul Luongo
Abstract
This response to Paul Luongo's study of the Norton Anthology of Western Music adds context to many of the editorial decisions made when creating the anthology. Luongo makes several recommendations for future editions and this response recognizes the value of many of these recommendations. It also, however, points out the limitations of others, especially those that are either impractical or would lessen the value of the anthology.
