Issues of Collaboration in Music: Graduate Student Musicology Conference
The Graduate Musicology Association at California State University, Long Beach is pleased to announce a Graduate Conference (website) on April 18, 2014 at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music.
Our keynote speaker this year will be Dr. David Brodbeck, Professor of Music at the University of California, Irvine.
DEADLINE: Proposals must be submitted electronically in PDF format to graduatemusicology@gmail.com no later than Wednesdayday, March 18, 2015.
The program committee invites graduate students of all disciplines to submit proposals for papers on issues of collaboration in music, including but not limited to musicology, music theory, and ethnomusicology. We welcome papers on any topic relating to the production, composition, and performance of music as an equal component of an artistic collaboration; we encourage diversity of research in our submissions ranging the entire gamut of music and other arts including but not limited to literature, poetry, film, dance, visual arts, and theatre.
All proposals should include the title of the paper and an abstract (12-point font and double-spaced) not exceeding 350 words. Proposals themselves should NOT include the author's name or other identifying information. If necessary, up to two supplemental pages with musical examples, figures, tables, etc. may be included.
A cover email that includes the applicant's name, institutional affiliation, preferred email address, phone number, and required equipment (e.g. CD-players, data connections, etc.) for the proposed presentation should accompany each proposal.

Eureka! Musical Minds of California 2015 Graduate Student Conference will take place at the University of California, Santa Cruz on May 9, 2015.
We welcome presentations on a wide range of musical topics, and from any discipline of graduate study in music.
Graduate students are invited to present their independent research through three different presentation methods: paper/oral presentations, lecture recitals, and call for scores.
At the time of the conference, presenters must be enrolled in a California graduate music program.

International Workshop "Music as Resistance to Genocide"
