AMS / RRHOFM Lecture Series:
Call for Lecture Proposals

The AMS / Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Lectures provide a public forum that brings scholarly work to a broader audience and showcases the musicological work of the top scholars in the field. All members who have based their research on musicological topics oriented to the RRHOFM Archives and Collections are invited to submit lecture proposals; nominations for potential speakers are also encouraged. Preference will be given to topics dealing directly with rock and roll music, but proposals dealing with neighboring traditions will also be considered, including blues, country, jazz, as well as hip-hop, singer-songwriters, and offshoots in world music. Lectures are presented at the Foster Theater at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Lectures will be made available as webcasts on the website of the AMS. The AMS provides funding for transportation, lodging and meals.

Please send proposals of approximately 500 words and a current CV to Bob Judd in the AMS office: A three-member committee drawn from the Committee on Communications evaluates the applications.

REVISED Deadline for receipt of proposals:  15 January 2018.
Lecturers for Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 will be notified by 15 February 2018.
